The co-operation headquarter and the management of "Die Freien Brauer" in Dortmund consider themselves as a service organisation for the member breweries. The main task is to be useful for their members. Thereby, economic interests both of every each member and of the co-operation are kept in mind.

Common rules create a framework for the co-operation and secure the active support of the community. The Partners' Meeting and the Advisory Board are the most important decision-making bodies. They both can delegate tasks to the co-operation headquarter and to the study groups. The permanent study groups for sales, technics, commercial administration/controlling, logistics and marketing are primarily meant for the exchange of ideas. Moreover, the study groups establish common know-how and carry out precise, mostly marketing-oriented strategic projects.
