The well-established brewery "Privatbrauerei Ernst Barre" has been owned by Barre family since 1842.
The brewery is situated in Lübbecke, a Westphalian town near the so called "Wiehengebirge" (mountains).  
The brewery-owned sources rising here provide the crystal-clear spring water which is exclusively used as brewing liquor. This spring water makes the beers of this medium-sized private brewery fresh and highly digestible.

Produktion:
Top-fermented and bottom-fermented beers with following brand names: "Barre Pilsener", "Barre Frey", "Barre Dunke", "Barre Alt", "Barre Weizen", "Barre Maibock" and "Barre Festbier" as well as beer mixers with brand names: "Barre Alster", "Barre Alt Schuss", "Barre Lemon", "Barre Weizen Grape" and "Vitamalz".

Despite a slump in per capita consumption and an increase of competition on the German market, "Privatbrauerei Ernst Barre" has been able to sustain its position within the last years.

The annual output of beer currently amounts to about 160,000 hectolitres.
