Since 1847, when the DARMSTÄDTER Privatbrauerei was founded, the brewery has been the neighbor of the Darmstadt train station.

So it was only natural that the locomotive became the symbol of the DARMSTÄDTER brewery and to this day continues to pull in the guests again and again. The pioneering innovation of the DARMSTÄDTER brewery was the conversion of the entire assortment to clip-closure bottles. In doing so, the brewery set a new trend in the region and strengthened its role as forerunner in southern Hessen.
