Schussenrieder Brauerei
Bad Schussenried
Schussenrieder theme brewery with Germany’s first beer mug museum
Come - be amazed - be in a good mood
The brewing tradition of Schussenrieder brewery traces back to the Premonstratensian monastery founded in 1183. After the secularisation in 1803 and repeated owner changes the former "Kronen Brauerei" was taken over by Josef Ott, a master brewer, in 1906.
Today the family-owned brewery is run in the fourth generation by Michael Ott. Beside the development of different beer specialities we campaign for the preservation and the reactivation of precious traditions. Since its foundation, the enterprise has gone from a small brewery to an appealing theme brewery. With the opening of Germany's first beer mug museum, its beer mug shed and its event gastronomy the brewery has become a major tourist attraction.
Sales region: upper Swabia, Lake Constance, Allgaeu, Swabian Mountains, greater area of Stuttgart
Specialities: "Original No 1", a naturally cloudy beer served in a swing top bottle, "Bioland" beers (organic beers), "Vollmond-Bier" (exclusively brewed during full moon).
