Erlangen

Erlangen is a traditional beer city. In the middle of the last century there were 17 breweries, but only one of these has continued its brewing tradition without interruption: the Kitzmann private brewery.

The university city of Erlangen has been the home to the Kitzmann family for over 150 years; their brewing tradition goes back more than 250 years. These roots run deep. Kitzmann-Bräu sets high standards for their six beer specialities - from the popular Edelpils to the hearty Urbock.

The close ties of the family and their brewery to the city and region of Erlangen is hard to match. Taking the regional economic cycles into consideration, the brewery obtains the greatest amount of its high-quality ingredient materials from the immediate surroundings and the distribution of Kitzmann beer is concentrated within a 50 kilometer area around Erlangen. The Kitzmann private brewery is also known for its environmental engagement.
